Hello to all:
Wanted to let all of you know that we will be once again holding our
Charity Truckers 200 weekend. I will tell you that we will be battling a
tough economy and we know that. I know things are tough for everyone
as gas goes higher, jobs are being lost and on we can go.
I understand and want to try to encourage you to not let it totally stop you
from helping this years family. This year we will be helping 8 year old
Lacey Pate and her Mom & Dad from Lakeland FL. Lacey has already
had 22 operation in her short life.
She has a very rare disease called Kings Syndrome, she one of only 3-4
cases in the US. The odds were not good in her favor but she has battled
and fought hard. Please go to our website as more info about Lacey and
her disease will be up soon. I have the info packets nearly completed they
will be in PDF e-mail form and e-mailed the 15th or 16th. I will be mailing
out to those who I do not have e-mails for and have addresses for soon
there after. I want you to just consider what you can do to help.
If we all pitch in and give as we can then we can be a blessing to this little
girl and her family. We invited the Antique cars, mini-cups and strictly
stocks back this year. We also invited the Champ Karts back but the
series director decllined due to a full shedule.
I am adding the Superstocks to the Friday show with a 50 Lap event $600
winner take all ! Saturday night the Legend Cars will return to top off our
program. The event is set for Friday and Saturday December 5th & 6th. A
little change to the format as you will see when you get the info. Truck
drivers will be the headline with the 200 on Saturday night the 6th.
We will add a few twists to the show. I am currently working to get some
Nascar drivers to attend. It is very hard, but I do not give easily. I am
going to be working hard to get a TV deal put together with brighthouse
networks for this event. I really feel we can get it done. I also want to have
a car show and swap meet Saturday the 6th from 12-5 in front of
Speedworld, I am lookinf for someone that could head that part up, by
promoting and organizing that. If you are interested please call me asap.
If you have, can and will be able to sponsor part of this years event again
this year please call me or email soon. There is alot to do and I am always
looking for volunteers, if you can help please let me know. A reminder to
the truck drivers, the order I receive entries will determine duplicate
numbers and pit entry and parking for Friday morning the 5th.
The pre-entry is $150.00 before November 30th, $200.00 after the 30th
and at the gate. Truck drivers the purse has been increased this year by
around $1,200, we will start only 28 trucks this year and the start money
increased to $250.00.
I really hope you will take part in this big event in what ever way you can, I
need you, the Pates need you.
We will invite as we will every year the Hopkins, and Helmicks back to join
us. We will see how Tommy and Kaleigh are doing now and just enjoy
seeing them again. I want to say thanks for what you have done in the
first two years and how much I appreciate you all.
